about

Eco urban design is locally owned and operated in Denver, Colorado.  We are a team of creatives: designers, builders, innovators and puzzle solvers. Together, we share a common purpose within our industry — an intense desire to revive, enrich and create down-right awesome living spaces for our clients.

We are here for three primary reasons; because we love what we do, because we idealize the concept of pursuing creative dreams and ultimately because we believe in our ability to transform living environments into sacred spaces that reflect the owner’s personality and enhance the lives of those contained within them. eco urban specializes in interior design, residential remodel, kitchen and bath remodel, and landscape design. Often, we are inspired by Colorado’s beautiful environment and therefore offer sustainable solutions that blur the distinction between the indoor/outdoor environments.

We pride ourselves in developing strong client relationships and trustworthy vendor alliances that continue to thrive throughout the years. Great design is more than just skill and creativity; it’s also collaborative communication and professional follow through. Listening is one of our strong suits, as evidenced by our growing team of talent and our many happy client reviews on Houzz.

In 2012, three Denver contestants met while competing for the crown of HGTV’s All American Handyman. Out of thousands of applicants nationwide, owner Christopher was one of the three selected by HGTV to compete against each others from across the nation in front of over 300 million viewers! Today the projects are “real” and the winners are eco urban’s clients.

August of 2009 brought the conclusion of a long “academic decade,” marked by the acquisition of a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Public Administration from DU. I attribute my unyielding determination and resolve during that period to my parents – two great people with a strong work ethic and compassionate nature.

At some point during that period of personal ambition (and an ill-timed economic downturn), a simple yet gigantic solution came to my mind to solve my employment dilemma. “Why not create a company and employ myself in this industry?” With that realization, eco urban design was born.

I appreciate that my life’s “ah-ha” moment arrived before my fiery ambition waned. In the years since, I’ve built eco urban into a thriving young business that continues to inspire and feed my appetite for design. This business affords me the opportunity to meet incredible talent and interesting people who challenge me to bring out the best in myself and in the team that has now become “eco urban design”.

In 2000, I was busy working as a US marketing manager for an international technology company and would have never imagined that I would segue into the creative world of interior design. As fate would have it, a year later I was asked to create a business and marketing plan for a small interior design and upholstery shop that was up for sale by lifelong owners. After doing the required industry research and appreciating the talented craftsmen and designers on site, I knew there could be a natural transition from one form of visual sales and communication to another. I wanted to remain in that environment! Luckily, I was hired the business’s new design & marketing coordinator and chose to stay in the design field full time.

In the 13 years since then, I have managed several design firms; learning from a wide range of talents and backgrounds. With my sleeves rolled up, I dug into this field and have since moved through many different facets of design work, even creating original, custom pieces of furniture for clients that were later adopted by furniture manufacturers for future sale. I have no regrets about my origins in technology and still lean on those vital business skills today. Interior design demands that both sides of the brain be active… And most importantly, it requires a playful, open heart.

business philosophy

“Our primary mission is to strengthen all of our client relationships by executing with integrity.” Successful projects require trust and a joyful collaboration between designer and owner, expanding what’s possible for everyone involved. We value long term-relationships and do what it takes to cultivate them.We seek to honor each client’s authentic design style, rather than simply stamping our own over the project. Design lives on long after we’ve done our piece, so it must reflect the individuals who reside within it.
